The bitcoin community, specifically the journalists, have had this, borderline unhealthy, obsession with finding the ever elusive, Satoshi Nakamoto.
I’m here to tell you that it’s irrelevant and a complete waste of time.
To give you a bit of a background; the name Satoshi Nakamoto has been found on some of the earliest documentation of bitcoin and the blockchain. There is very strong evidence that Satoshi Nakamoto was the inventor of the blockchain and therefore father to bitcoin.
It doesn’t matter who Satoshi Nakamoto is. Not even in the slightest.
The media’s fascination with Mr Nakamoto is this unscratchable itch that journalists have to tie stories to human beings. Their interest lies not with the blockchain but rather with who created it. So that they can delve into this persons life and find out who he is. His dirty secrets. To find reason to doubt or fear this man and as a result Bitcoin and the blockchain. They want to quantify why he created it and what he personally gained out of it so that they can slander the person and bury the blockchain.
But it is irrelevant who created Bitcoin or the blockchain. This technology has nothing to do with its creator and is truly meant for the people.
We are all Satoshi Nakamoto, we are the people and we are the blockchain.
